The voice our board needs,
the advocate our schools deserve!
Our school board is missing a key stakeholder: a current K-12 educator.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought forth a new set of challenges for our children, educators, and families. The AISD school board has been faced with making unforeseen decisions regarding virtual learning platforms and instructional practices that directly impact student learning. Now more than ever before, our community needs a current public school educator with a strong curriculum background who can bring insight straight from the classrooms into to the school board’s discussions and decisions. After 12 successful years teaching elementary school in AISD, Sarah McMurrough is now a districtwide literacy instructional coach who is in classrooms each day to help teachers enhance their instruction. Sarah is a dynamic, award-winning educator who will lead with energy, innovation, integrity, a listening ear, and solutions. As an Arlington native and mother of two young children (including a first grader at Little Elementary in AISD), she is personally committed to the success of our school district. Sarah will put children at the forefront of every stance she will hold as a board member, and that means putting teachers at the forefront as well.
