Sarah is a proud graduate of Arlington ISD schools (Foster, Gunn, & Bowie). She was raised by a single mother, attended college as a first-generation student, and it has always been a dream of hers to be a teacher. As soon as she earned her education degree from Texas State University-San Marcos, she returned straight back home to Arlington to pursue that dream. Today, as her son Danny likes to say, Sarah is a “teacher of teachers” in Mansfield ISD. She is happily married to Dr. Chris McMurrough, a UTA engineering professor and small business owner. Sarah and Chris have two sons, whom they love dearly. Danny McMurrough is a first grader on the autism spectrum who has shown tremendous gains thanks to early intervention and his outstanding AISD teachers and teaching assistants. Their youngest son, Henry, was born during the stay-at-home phase of the pandemic as Sarah was learning how to teach virtually and help Danny learn from home for the first time! The McMurrough family strongly values education and loves to work as a team to serve their community.
